The what - - - game ?

By Chloe Day

If the ’w3w rock challenge’ sparked you - there’s a big chance you’re going to trig on the games held by Alexey last week…

There were two games related to what3words:

For the first game, participants were given three sequences of two Russian words without spaces. The gamers were given two hints to find a 3 word location:

-          the theme “without two”

-          a picture named w3w.jpg.

From the first hint “without two,” the gamers had to remove the second word from each sequence, leaving them with three words, one for each sequence. By searching for what3words they found the website and that the remaining three words gave them a what3words location. By using the website, the gamers could find their quest location.

For the second game, the instructions were to find a pole with a transformer box and the level quest code.

At the start, gamers were given one 2 word sequence and two 3 word sequences (yes the words are in Russian)

1. хаятель штахель

2. епископ пикассо сопилка

3. селить десять льстец

Following the game theme “without two,” for each sequence of words, this time they had to remove two letters from each word. The remaining letters had to be the same in each word for that sequence. (For example: Two word sequence of: locate, relate- take away 2 letters (oc from locate and re from late) = late

By rearranging these anagrams, they were left with one word for each sequence: ехать, поиск, сеть. Competitors had to enter this three word address into the what3words website, giving them a new location. At this location they found the pole with a transformer box and the level quest code.

Come across any other w3w games during summer ? We’d love to hear about them @what3words
